The event started off the usual way. Calling of the
important personals to the high table which included those around: The former
V.C, The registrar, The Provost of the library
The event continued with Prayers form both the Muslims and
Christians, followed by the singing of the National anthem and the Schools
anthem.
The guests were entertained by two short dramas, presented
by the Mass Com. department of the school, which was quite something. Plus they
got a gift from the wife of the President or Owner of O.U.I. That short drama
was followed by dancing; they got their gifts as well.
Next the saying of testimonials began with the President or
owner of the school Chief R.A Adedoyin. In his speech he made reference to the
tax issue that began earlier this week. In his words he said “we thank you so
much for being there when we had a problem with the 173 million issue” and also
mentioned “we are going to pay Osun state taxes and we are paying it. We are
thankful to his Majesty the Oni of Ife, the commissioner of police and you the
students and staff”.
The wife also made her testimony, she stated with Baba you
are good, and you will continue to be good…“part of her opening speech. She
also prayed for him the, Yoruba style, for long life and prosperity.
The registrar made mention of the former V.C as someone
“magnanimous” making reference to situations when he helped parent, students
and staff.
Members of staff were called to say something about the V.C
including a student who’s speech was quiet touching…calling the former V.C “the
Abiola of our time and the Obj of our time” because of his great achievements
to the school.
Next the presentation of gift to the V.C took big edge.
Gifts from College of Natural and Applied Sciences and other bodies were
presented.
Towards the end of the program the President was called on
to make a special announcement. Where he called on the name of the acting V.C
as “Alhaja Prof. Mrs Olajumoke Olayiwola”.
He also encouraged the Lecturer to be hard working not minding what they
got as reward, but putting the school first. The vote of thanks then followed,
which was held by the Provost of Environmental Estate Management.
Then ending the occasion was with prayers and singing the
National and School anthem.
